Book of the Week
The
Stars My Destination by Alfred Bester is the study of a man completely
lacking in imagination or ambition. Fate transforms Gulliver Foyle in an
instant; shipwrecked and abandoned in space, Foyle becomes a
monomaniacal and sophisticated monster bent upon revenge. Wearing many
masks, learning many skills, this "worthless" man pursues his goals
relentlessly; no price is too high to pay.

The
Wrestler is a 2008 film directed by Darren Aronofsky, written by Robert
D. Siegel, and starring Mickey Rourke, Marisa Tomei, Evan Rachel Wood,
and Ernest Miller. A faded professional wrestler must retire, but finds
his quest for a new life outside the ring a dispiriting struggle.
